recently,
i found out my dad is deciding not to send me any money for the summer because he views it as fun money/vacation money, and not what i actually use it for, food and gas for my car. and i can’t stay at his house because my room has been converted to an office. i can’t really stay with my aunt because her daughter is already there, and she is certainly not making enough money right now....

a professor from uchicago just emailed me personally about how excited the staff is to possibly meet me in february (and previous to this, a different professor emailed me with similar positivity). i didn’t even know i was accepted??? mix of confusion and excitement..
